Days for Darcee Ella
On Sunday 24th September 2017 the staff at Educare Nursery (Beverley) are going to be walking from Market Weighton back to Beverley via the Hudston Rail Trail to raise money for Darcee Ella Cawthorne
Darcee Ella came to Educare between the age of 2 and 3 years old, She loved her time here with us and seemed to be developing well. However, unfortunately within the past year Darcee Ella has suffered with horrendous seizures leading to a regression in development. She has very recently been diagnosed with Late Infantile Battens Disease. This disease is very rare which will shorten her life expectancy to anything in the region of 6-12 years old. On 30.08.17 Darcee Ella turned 4.
The family are trying to raise funds to allow Darcee Ella’s days to be magical and memorable for the family. They are also looking at purchasing sensory equipment as Darcee Ella is likely to lose her sight and the loss of use in most muscles and limbs.
We are inviting anyone above the age of 16 and who is in a physically able position to join our walk which is 10.2 miles. We are meeting at Market Weighton at 12 noon to start the walk for around 12.30pm.
The walk will take us down the old railway lines passed Granny’s Attic and through to Beverley. We will come out near the Hayride pub in Beverley which we will use as a toilet stop as there are no toilets en route. Anyone wishing to join us there are more than welcome along with children to join us for the last stretch.
We will be ending our Walk at The Kings Head in Beverley where the manager Matthew has very kindly donated snacks to replenish our energy.
All we are asking for is £5 per person, this can either be donated in cash on the day or before hand.
Anyone wishing to join us please let a member of the Educare Team know so we can inform Kings Head of our final numbers.
You can do this via facebook or call the nursery on 01482 873344 or email@example.com
Please feel free to bring a piece of bright ribbon to tie onto the wishing tree along the walk
